When you first contact me, you’ll no doubt be clear about the challenges your business faces. But you may be unsure about how best to tackle those challenges. That’s where you can draw on my experience.
Coaching and consulting have the same purpose: to help you achieve your goals. I provide both services and, if you’re not sure which is best for you, we can discuss this at our first meeting.
Coaching: I help you develop your business management skills, so you learn how to solve your business challenges. I have a dual focus: you and your long-term goals.
Consulting: You delegate one of your business challenges to me to sort out. My focus is the business problem, rather than you personally.
Sometimes it’s a mix of both. You ask me to troubleshoot an urgent issue while we also start out on the coaching process.
The advantage of coaching compared to consulting is that you learn from me and become a more effective business manager. You’ll come to understand how to overcome the business challenges you face.
We all have different strengths and weaknesses. I’ll help you take stock of where you are now. What’s working well and what’s not so effective. Then, we’ll plan the way forward. My role is to help keep you on track, guiding you step-by-step.
The results can be dramatic, but it’s a learning curve. You’ll need to put in time and effort to make it work. Just like a sports coach, I can help you boost your performance – and that of your team – but you will be making changes to the way you think and operate.
Business success is not about being busy. It’s about taking effective action. Business coaching helps you understand and learn how to do that.
We start by discussing your goals and the issues you face. What you’d like to get from your business and what’s standing in the way. We look at the options for bringing about change and set a 90-day action plan.
Once the plan is in place, we set up regular meetings. At each meeting, we review progress, set goals, and agree specific action steps. You can also contact me between meetings if you have questions.
Though I look for early results, it will likely take 6 to 12 months to transform how you manage your business. We start by implementing the 90-day plan. Then, in month 3, we reassess and make a new 90-day plan.
